Beach week

Had a great time with Bernie (of The Crabby Lion) in Ocean City, MD. We had a very creative weekend....

These are some of the things I made:

The first is a disk that I cut a square window in and then drilled holes all the way around for wire and beads.

Next is a piece of copper I sawed from sheet, with sawed sterling that I stamped and riveted to it. I drilled holes and placed tiny rings. Added chain. All the rings for the chain and pendant were hand coiled and cut at the ocean. :)

This last pendant was practice entirely...It morphed many times.....ended up looking like Noahs ark! Its is sawed from copper sheet, windows sawed in, holes drilled, and then heishi beads riveted on with either steel or sterling 16 ga wire (can't remember which now!)

and finally a simple silver bracelet made with half round sterling:

  1. Hey Luz!!!
I use a thin sheet of a rubber sort of material under the metal (between the metal and anvil) when I stamp. It helps hold the metal still and also might absorb some shock which might help deepen the imprint...not sure. And lately I have swung a bit harder when I stamp.
I think too that some people anneal prior to stamping, but I haven't yet.
